  • United Online has named MATT WISK as executive vice president and chief marketing officer. Wisk will direct the marketing efforts for all of United Online's brands, including NetZero, Juno Online, and Classmates.com. Most recently, Wisk was senior vice president, chief marketing officer at TiVo where he directed TiVo's global marketing efforts. Also at United Online, TED CAHALL was named as executive vice president and chief operating officer of Classmates.com and executive vice president, United Online Web Services.


  • GEOFF SMITH was tapped as senior vice president of interactive commerce at Shop At Home. In addition, KEVIN KRITCH has been promoted to vice president of production and broadcast operations, from his previous role as vice president of operations.


  • Rodale has named JIM BERRA senior vice president of customer marketing. Most recently he served as senior vice president, customer marketing, overseeing Starwood’s loyalty practice, customer data, CRM applications; and managing the Strategic Alliance Marketing Group.


  • MARK LUDWIG has joined The Point Group as vice president in account management.


  • KAREN DEUTSCH joins PEOPLE magazine as a New York Division manager. Deutsch most recently served as New York manager of Cosmopolitan, overseeing a staff of three and responsible for the New York and New England territories.


  • Sesame Workshop has promoted SHERRIE ROLLINS WESTIN toexecutive vice president/chief marketing officer and MAURA REGAN to vice president and general manager of global licensing.


  • Y&R has named MARC SIGLE executive vice president and chief financial officer of the New York office. Sigle will be responsible for the overall financial health of the New York office and oversee all financial-related client partner and agency initiatives. Sigle comes to Y&R from BBDO Worldwide, where he worked since 1987 and progressed through the ranks holding numerous positions in financial operations.


  • PETRA HOEHN NEMETH has been appointed president of This Old House Ventures. Hoehn Nemeth will be responsible for the overall operations and performance of This Old House assets including national first-run and syndicated television programming, This Old House magazine and online media, direct marketing, live events, and custom publishing. Hoehn Nemeth most recently served as executive vice president, head of U.S. operations for the Bertelsmann Corporate Network.


  • ABC Radio Networks has named CARLA GRIFFIN as account manager of urban sales for the Southwest region. Previously, Griffin was an account executive at WJZW-FM in Washington, D.C., where she was responsible for many of the station's key accounts.


  • Business 2.0 magazine has named former Time magazine San Francisco Bureau Chief CHRIS TAYLOR to the newly created position of future editor. In his new role, Taylor will cover emerging trends that will be impacting business and technology in three to five years and beyond. This appointment marks the first time a major publication has assigned an editor to cover this beat.


  • LARRY WIESLER has joined Renegade Marketing Group as managing director.


  • LARRY MILLER has been named director of national sales for National Geographic Kids magazine. Miller will be responsible for managing all advertising sales for the magazine. Most recently, Miller served as a senior account manager for National Geographic magazine.


  • Bakers Man has formed a new production company, TrueLight Entertainment, to provide animation production, innovative marketing, and e-learning services based on proprietary processes and tools. KEVIN O’DONNELL has been named president of the company.


  • AllBusiness.com has hired KATHY YATES as chief operating officer. Yates most recently served as president and chief operating officer of CBSMarketWatch.com, where she oversaw news and business operations and participated in the sale of the company to Dow Jones. Yates will be responsible for forming new partnerships and strengthening the company's operations.


  • JIM SCHOENBURG has joined Eyeblaster as director of business development. Schoenburg will manage the market penetration of Eyeblaster’s AdVision, an ad management and serving platform launching in October.


  • The promotions and retail marketing division of The Bravo Group has promoted MATT NEIDL to group manager and appointed DANILO ALVAREZ as associate creative director, FEDERICO CALLEGARI as senior art director, and JOSEFINA DURAN as senior account executive.


  • WONGDOODY has named TAN LE as creative director of design and brand development. Prior to joining WONGDOODY, Le was creative director of design and packaging at Young & Rubicam Brands in Seattle, managing the Microsoft account.


  • ENC Marketing & Communications has named TRACY JOHNSON as marketing manager. Johnson will support client accounts including Juniper Networks, NASA SEWP, and Pinkerton. Most recently, she worked as the media and publicity chairperson for the Pennsylvania Special Olympics.


  • STEPHANIE SANDBERG has been named vice president, marketing for The FORTUNE Group, consisting of FORTUNE and FORTUNE Small Business magazines.  Sandberg will be responsible for all marketing strategies and initiatives for the group. Most recently, Sandberg was the president and publisher of The New Republic.


  • MIKE DEBARTOLO has been named senior vice president of advertising for PARADE Publications. DeBartolo will lead the advertising sales department and replaces JIM HACKETT, senior vice president/marketing, who now leads PARADE’s marketing department.


  • ANDREA ISBESTER joined DDB Canada’s Toronto office as vice president, director of integrated solutions. Isbester was vice president group head at DDB Toronto before serving as vice president, managing director at Downtown Partners for the last four years.


  • SIMON GOSLING has joined Cut + Run as managing director of the London office. Prior to Cut + Run, Gosling was director of the commercial effects division of boutique company Clear.


  • PAM STURCHIO QUANDT has joined Bandalong Entertainment as vice president of marketing. Sturchio Quandt was formerly the online marketing director of MaximNet Inc., where she oversaw the marketing operations for Maxim Online, StuffMagazine.com, Blender.com, and TheWeekMagazine.com.


  • Media Contacts, the interactive arm of MPG, has named ROB GRIFFIN vice president, director of search, for its U.S. offices. Griffin will manage and expand Media Contacts' search team. He originally worked for the firm in 2001 through 2004 as interactive account director and then became director of online acquisition for Lycos. 


  • PointRoll has hired JASON TAFLER as vice president of business development and strategy. Tafler will be responsible for developing new business opportunities and partnerships. Prior to joining PointRoll, Tafler was an M&A specialist with The Jordan, Edmiston Group Inc., a boutique mergers and acquisitions investment bank.
