  • WebTrends has named SCOTT FOERNSLER as vice president of worldwide sales.


  • SpecificMEDIA has named STEVEN T. A. CARTER as vice president of product development. Carter will establish strategic and tactical plans for new product development for the company. Carter was most recently senior director of business operations where he managed media operations and traffic functions.


  • MATTHEW BARASH has been named as advertising sales account manager of Smithsonianmagazine. Barash comes to Smithsonian from International Market Systems, where he developed sales and marketing strategies to broaden the scope of IMS business targeting media conglomerates, broadcasters, publishers, MSOs, and interactive media.


  • Cultivator Advertising & Design has named MONTE MEAD partner and chief design director.


  • Vendare Media has named DE ANNE PACE WINGATE as sales manager for the Midwest region. Based in Chicago, Wingate previously was responsible for overseeing sales development in both the Midwest and Southwest for BURST! Media.


  • KENNETH DAY has been named publisher of Washington Flyermagazine. Day joins Washington Flyer from Roll Call, where he most recently served as director of marketing, strategy, and communications.


  • Mediagedge:cia has tapped media veteran BRUCE JAY COHEN as managing partner, director of national broadcast. He will oversee all buying duties for Campbell’s, Toys ‘R’ Us, and Mattel accounts. Before joining MEC, Cohen was a consultant to Masterfoods, where he managed the company’s brand budgets, the relationship with their media buying agencies, and their branded entertainment assignments.


  • MIGUEL "MIKE" PONS has been named senior director of corporate development at The Weather Channel Companies. In this position, he will lead the strategic planning and corporate development initiatives for the company’s enterprise-wide growth efforts. He will also have responsibility for the development and execution of key strategies and initiatives for the company's cable/satellite networks, Internet, new media, and emerging technologies sectors. Most recently, Pons was director of research and strategic planning at the TeleFutura Television Network of Univision Communications.


  • Organic has promoted TROY YOUNG to executive vice president and chief experience architect; COLLEEN DECOURCY to vice president and chief creative officer; and CHUCK RUSSO to executive vice president and chief of client development.


  • JERRY KLEIN has been named senior vice president, director of client services of Milner Butcher Media Group (MBMG). He joins MBMG from Horizon Media. 


  • Starcom IP, a digital and online media services agency within Starcom MediaVest Group, has named IP media directors JEN SCHREIBER and ART SINDLINGER vice presidents of the agency.


  • CHRIS WARD has been promoted to senior vice president, Midwest advertising sales, for Hallmark Channel and Hallmark Movie Channel from vice president. Prior to joining Hallmark Channel, Ward worked at Fox Family Channel for six years, most recently serving as an account executive.


  • KIM MOHAN has joined Y&R as senior producer. Mohan will be a part of the broadcast production team, responsible for the coordination, collaboration, and production of TV and radio spots for Y&R Chicago's Sears and Miller business partners.


  • Rainbow Advertising Sales Corporation (RASCO) appointed HANNA GRYNCWAJG to senior vice president of advertising sales and marketing strategy. Gryncwajg is charged with overseeing the day-to-day operations for RASCO’s national ad sales offices in Detroit and Los Angeles and will direct integration and major marketing initiatives for Rainbow Media’s national networks, AMC, IFC, and WE: Women’s Entertainment. Gryncwajg returns to RASCO after more than two years with NBC, where she served as senior vice president of advertising sales for Bravo.


  • Reuters has appointed FRED KATAYAMA as anchor, in the United States, for its daily global news broadcast “World Updates” and for “Reuters Industry Summits” where he’ll be conducting in-depth interviews with various business leaders and executives worldwide.


  • MARK CARDWELL has joined ABC News as editorial director, where he will lead the editorial programming for ABCNEWS.com. Most recently, Cardwell worked for The Associated Press, where he was executive producer of the digital group.


  • Eyeblaster has named JOAN FAGAN and TOM HAWKINS, as directors of account management. Fagan, a former director of client service at JupiterResearch, joined the company in July to lead the account management groups in the Eastern and Central regions. Hawkins, who joined the company in October 2004 as manager of client service, will lead the Western region account management group.


  • KEN FEATHERSTON, senior vice president and executive creative director at J. Brown, has been promoted to general manager, assuming overall management responsibilities for the agency’s Chicago office. Prior to J. Brown, Featherston was an art director with JWT in Chicago,working with clients such as Kraft, SC Johnson, Quaker, and Pepsi International.


  • Starcom USA has named media directors JAN-ERIC ANDERSON, MARIE MYSZKOWSKI, LATHA SUNDARAM,JACKIE KULESZA, and CHRISTINE OLSON as vice presidents of the agency. All operate out of the agency's Chicago headquarters.


  • BOB HUSEBY has been promoted to vice president sales and EMILY-JANE THROCKMORTON has been promoted to online sales director at IDG Entertainment.


  • LAURIE RICH has been tapped as the executive in charge of production for “Martha.” In addition, CHRISTINA PANE DEYO has been tapped as supervising producer for the lifestyle and human interest department and MEREDITH PAIGE joinsMartha” as supervising producer.


  • Empower MediaMarketing announced that KEN LAZAR, LAURA LOVINS, and RHONDA MCLEOD have joined the media agency as senior market managers. Lovins will be based at the agency’s headquarters in Cincinnati, while Lazar and McLeod will be based in regional offices in Pittsburgh and Houston, respectively.


  • Sugo, a music and multimedia agency, has opened a New York-based sales office to be run by SARI MCCONNELL, currently Sugo’s vice president of marketing and product development.

Before joining Carat Interactive in 2002, he built and managed the affiliate marketing practice at Vizium, where he implemented consulting methodologies and established relationships with technology partners.
