  • Starcom MediaVest Group has named global knowledge director PAM DANIELS a vice president of the agency. She has worked for Starcom USA, Starcom Mexico, Starcom Latin America, Tapestry and StarLink serving clients such as Procter & Gamble, United Distillers, McDonalds, United Airlines and Miller Brewing Company.


  • LEWIS NEWMARK has been promoted to New York advertising director of Travel + Leisure magazine. He was most recently advertising manager of Travel + Leisure's Los Angeles office.


  • MIKE MASCIA has been promoted to sales manager of Continental Television Sales’ New York Empire Team. Mascia has been employed at CTS for eight years, most recently as an account executive on the New York Gotham Team.


  • JAMES G. HELD has been named president and chairman of the Shop At Home television retailing network. Most recently, Held was acting chief executive officer of SmartBargains Inc., an online retailer of discounted branded consumer products.


  • Amity Entertainment, a production/distribution/licensing company, has named BOB PEYTON as executive vice president, distribution.


  • Keller Crescent Company has hired BRANDY GOGGINS as media coordinator in the media department. In her new position, Goggins is responsible for assisting with the development, implementation and monitoring of media plans.


  • The Syndicate has hired marketing specialist PHILIP MCINTYRE as its East Coast sales rep. McIntyre will have overall responsibility for business development and sales on the East Coast.


  • TODD SCHWARTZ has been hired as executive vice president, interactive at Wahlstrom Group. Prior to Wahlstrom, Schwartz was executive vice president and co-founder of directMASS LLC, an agency specializing in online media and search engine marketing. In that role, he was responsible for sales, marketing and client services.


  • Paul Schultz has promoted ANDY VUCINICH to senior vice president of agency services. Vucinich will be responsible for all creative, media and client services. Vucinich joined Paul Schultz nearly five years ago as executive creative director.


  • TRACY WONG has joined Horizon's Los Angeles office as planning group head. He comes to Horizon from RPA where he served as associate media director. JERRI DICKERMAN has been promoted to broadcast group manager in Horizon New York's Local TV department, up from senior buyer. Dickerman joined Horizon five years ago from Grey Advertising. EVELIZA JIMENEZ has been promoted to broadcast group manager in Horizon New York's Local TV department, up from senior buyer. MARGIE BENNETT has joined Horizon New York's local TV department as a senior buyer after freelancing at the agency for the past year. Prior to joining Horizon, Bennett was a local broadcast supervisor at MediaCom. JILL GOLDBLATT joins Horizon Media New York as media planner. Goldblatt joins Horizon from The Media Edge where she was a media planner working on Colgate Palmolive's soaps and deodorants account. NATALIE NOVAK has been promoted to account supervisor, up from account executive. Lastly, ADAM SWEET has been promoted from assistant buyer to a junior buyer in Horizon's Los Angeles office and ERICA AU has joined Horizon LA as an assistant TV buyer.


  • RICK FOWLER has been named director of marketing and promotion for 630 WMAL.


  • MICHELLE RUSSO has been promoted to vice president, corporate communications for Discovery Communications. Russo is responsible for each of the company’s business units, including Discovery Networks U.S., Discovery Networks International, Discovery Commerce, Discovery Education and the Discovery Channel Global Education Partnership. Prior to joining Discovery, Russo served as director of media relations and public affairs for the media bureau of the Federal Communications Commission.


  • T3 (The Think Tank) has named CHRIS BATCHIK as director of direct marketing. Batchik joins T3 from McCann Erickson Relationship Marketing, where he was senior vice president, group director. Batchik will oversee the agency’s direct marketing efforts.


  • ValueMags has named VIRGINIA K. SEIBERT as vice president of publisher relations. Most recently, Seibert worked for the Audit Bureau of Circulations (ABC), serving in various senior-level positions.


  • LIZ GRUSZKIEVICZ, previously of JWT, Chicago has been tapped as the group account director of La Agencia de Orcí & Asociados. TEDDY HAYES, previously of Foote, Cone & Belding, has joined Orcí as vice president, media director; JOSE GONZALEZ has been tapped as managing director; and ROBERTO RUIZ has been promoted to managing director with responsibility for Client Services.


  • JACK KLUES has been named chairman of Publicis Groupe Media (PGM). He was formerly chief executive of Starcom MediaVest Group (SMG). In addition, RENETTA MCCANN, currently chief executive officer of Starcom MediaVest Group (SMG)/The Americas, will take over from Klues as CEO of SMG. McCann was chief executive officer of SMG/The Americas.


  • Epsilon, a provider of multi-channel marketing services, technologies and database solutions, has named MICHAEL LAVOIE as executive vice president, commercial client services. Lavoie will be responsible for leading and servicing the company's client base. Prior to joining Epsilon, Lavoie worked at Juniper Bank as senior vice president, partnership development, where he was responsible for leading a team on analyzing marketing opportunities and fostering relationships with partnership organizations.


  • Smashing Ideas has appointed BRIAN BURKE as managing director of corporate development. Burke will oversee all corporate and business development efforts, focusing on strategic partnerships in media, entertainment, consumer products, mobile and emerging technologies. Prior to joining Smashing Ideas, Burke helped launch AtomFilms, which merged with Shockwave.com to form AtomShockwave Corporation.


  • MRM Partners has unveiled a new brand called MRM WORLDWIDE in an effort to help clients to better engage prospects and customers whenever they choose to interact with a brand.


  • GABE MATTINGLY has joined GdB as interactive supervisor. He most recently worked for Carmichael Lynch.


  • The marketing communications division of Lowe in Mexico City is being re-branded as Draft Mexico. SALVADOR ALANIS will serve as managing director of Draft Mexico.
