  • The Republik has named DWAYNE FRY as chief strategic officer, a new position for the agency. Most recently, Fry was partner/strategy at Front Door, Raleigh, working on accounts including Midway Airlines, Red Storm Entertainment and Raleigh Now.


  • Reuters opened its global headquarters in London's Canary Wharf today, and QUEEN ELIZABETH stopped in to tour the new office. The Queen filed a story about the opening by pressing a button on the reception's main screen.


  • KERRY BENSON has joined Hill, Holliday as senior vice president and account director. Benson will handle the agency’s recently won Liberty Mutual business. Most recently, Benson served as a partner and director of brand strategy for Connelly Partners in Boston. While there, she developed brand strategies for Ocean Spray Craisins, Advance Internet (Division of Conde Naste), Stonyfield Farm and Uncle Sam Cereal.


  • SFGT has named DAVID FOX to the newly created position of director, promotional strategy, responsible for the development of consumer and sales promotions, new product planning, sponsorship activation, and other below-the-line activities. Previously, Fox was vice president, senior account supervisor at creative services agency Thomas J. Paul, where he managed the Dove Chocolate and M&M's accounts.


  • Bakers Man has named BILL BUCKLEY as chief marketing officer for its family of companies, including Bakers Man Productions, Bakers Man Technology Group, Bakers Man Entertainment Group, TrueLight Entertainment and Image Quest Studios.


  • The New York Times Media Group has promoted TODD HASKELL from executive director of business development to the newly created position of vice president, business development, advertising.


  • Rainbow Media’s Mag Rack and sportskool have named KATE CARR as vice president of marketing and PHIL SUMMERS as vice president of integrated sales. Carr will be responsible for the creation and implementation of marketing strategies for both Mag Rack and sportskool. Summers will oversee and direct all non-affiliate revenue-generating activities, including advertising sales, sponsorship initiatives, product placements and merchandising.


  • Modem Media has opened a New York office.


  • MICHAEL DUDA has been promotedto partner-director of business development and corporate initiatives at Deutsch. He was senior vice president-director of business development.


  • THOMAS WOERNER has been namedpublisher of Brandweekmagazine. He joins the magazine from the Newspaper National Network, where he was a sales executive. Prior to that, Woerner was vice president of global sales and marketing at CMP Media.


  • THOMAS M. MATTHEWS has been appointed western manager of GOLF Magazine, and BRAD WALSH, who formerly held the position, has been named national sales manager, equipment advertising.


  • JASON R. KREBS has been named vice-president, online sales, Conde Nast Media Group-Interactive. Krebs joins Conde Nast from the New York Times, where he was the vice-president of sales and marketing for NYTimes.com. Previously, Krebs was the vice-president and general manager, overseeing the classified businesses at NYTimes.com, Boston.com, and newyorktoday.com.


  • Return Path has appointed LESLIE PRICE to the newly created position of senior product manager, accreditation services. Price will be responsible for managing the Bonded Sender Program. She joined Return Path in 2004 as director of ISP relations.


  • Centro has named SHAUNA MONKMAN, formerly vice president of worldwide advertising sales for FT.com, as its vice president, business development.


  • VICTOR ERRANTE has joined Keller Crescent Company as director of sales promotion. Errante will be responsible for direction of point-of-sale, sweepstakes, sales incentive programs and consumer retention programs for various clients.


  • EyeWonder has opened new offices in Los Angeles and San Francisco. Sales director DAN DRESSEL will lead the Los Angeles office and JOHN TOKAR, the company’s newly appointed director of sales for the west, will manage the San Francisco office.


  • DAVID MURPHY has been named president of Saatchi & Saatchi Los Angeles. Most recently, Murphy was North American managing partner of Young & Rubicam Brands.


  • KAREN TAYLOR has been named director of the Morris DigitalWorks business development department.


  • RTC Relationship Marketing (RTCRM), a Young & Rubicam Brands affiliate, has named TOM O’CONNELL as senior vice president, account director and GAYATRI BHALLA as vice president, account director. Prior to joining RTCRM, O’Connell was a vice president and marketing director with Digitas. Most recently, Bhalla was a vice president and director of marketing for Digitas.


  • L. DENNETT ROBERTSON has been named marketing director of Smithsonian Magazine group publishing. Robertson comes to Smithsonian from Condé Nast Traveler, where she was creative sales director. Prior to Traveler, she served as the director of brand and business development for Popular Science.


  • KAREN SEAMEN has been promoted from executive vice president to general manager of Cramer-Krasselt’s corporate headquarters. Seamen has been with C-K for 17 years.


  • BILL POWER has joined BBDO New York as executive vice president and worldwide account director, responsible for leading the GE brand on a global basis, across four continents and more than a dozen offices. Power joins the agency from Interpublic Group, where he served as enterprise director on the Bank of America business.


  • AMC has named GINA DEGNAN HUGHES to vice president of advertising and ALISON HOFFMAN to director of advertising. Hughes will be responsible for developing and producing strategic and effective advertising that delivers ratings for the network. Hoffman will supervise the strategic development and execution of AMC advertising and media buying, as well as direct creative development of all consumer-oriented messaging, both internally and externally for the network.


  • VNU Business Media has promoted TONY UPHOFF, vice president and general manager of the Hollywood Reporter, to president of the Film and Performing Arts Group, comprising the Hollywood Reporter, Back Stage East, Back Stage West, Hollywood Creative Directory and Amusement Business. He will also serve as publisher of the Hollywood Reporter, succeedingROBERT DOWLING, who is leaving the company to open his own consulting firm. Uphoff joined the Hollywood Reporter in 2003 from Ziff Davis and CMP Media, where he was president of the business technology group. In addition, MATTHEW KING, group vice president, editorial development, will expand his duties to assume overall responsibility for editorial operations and strategy for all Film and Performing Arts Group brands.


  • Geary Interactive has opened an office in New York City. LAURIE B. ARAKAWA, formerly director of account services in Geary's San Diego office, will serve as managing director of the office. Arakawa will oversee business development and account management operations for clients such as Trump International and M&T Bank.


  • Amity Entertainment has appointed DEBBIE MUNDY as vice president/controller and JASON ELSKY as director of marketing. Mundy worked at Gaylord Entertainment Company in various positions, including vice president/controller, for more than 20 years. Elsky comes to Amity from the Trebing Design Group.


  • MARK DILLON has been appointed vice president of sales for the central and western regions for WhenU. Dillon joins WhenU from Advertising.com, where he served as vice president of sales since 2002.


  • Network LIVE, a joint venture between America Online, XM Satellite Radio and AEG, has named ANDY BRILLIANT as executive vice president, international and JOHN GAYDON as managing director of Network LIVE in London. Brilliant's responsibilities include developing and managing global strategic relationships across multiple verticals such as wireless, TV, and broadband. Gaydon will be responsible for global content acquisition and production strategy.
