  • Hunt Adkins named FAITH JAMES as chief strategy officer, overseeing account management, account planning, media and project management departments, and working on new business. Most recently, James was an independent consultant for clients including GSD&M and the Second Wind Network.


  • JOSEPH HUTCHINSON has been named art director of Rolling Stone. Hutchinson joins Rolling Stone from the Los Angeles Times, where he served as creative director.


  • Better Homes and Gardens named MELISSA ALEEVSKI to the newly created position of sales development director. Most recently, Aleevski was marketing director at Golf for Women and Golf World.


  • ERIC MIKA was named senior vice president, publishing director at The Hollywood Reporter. He is presently senior vice president and managing director of Nielsen Business Media’s Film and Performing Arts Group.


  • Eric Mower and Associates appointed ROBERT J. BELLAFIORE a senior partner.


  • 90octane promoted BROOKE CAESAR to project manager and SEAN BRUNNER to senior marketing coordinator.

  • Universal McCann named QUENTIN GEORGE as the global director of digital strategy and marketing innovation. He was previously chief of corporate development for Organic.


  • Netshelter named TODD E. CARVILLE as national sales director for its Branded Network.


  • JAMIE BROWN joined [x+1] as vice president, optimization & analytics, a new position. Brown joins the company from AC Nielsen where he was director of statistical methodology.


  • TRACY LOVATT and NICK BARTLE were promoted to directors of behavioral planning for BBDO North America. Lovatt and Bartle will also continue in their present roles as directors of behavioral planning for BBDO New York and BBDO West, respectively.


  • MASAYUKI (YUKI) NOZOE has been named president and CEO of I&S BBDO in Japan. He succeeds KAZUHIKO SANKA, who will remain on the Board of I&S BBDO as representative director and senior advisor. He previously served as a co-president of Sony Pictures Entertainment.


  • Eric Mower and Associates promoted JOANNE LATHAM to management supervisor.


  • TOM LAURENT has been named director of print production and LYNN WEATHERLY has been named director of broadcast at MARC USA.


  • Zig named MIKE SHARMA to oversee its digital practice for all North American operations, including Toronto and Chicago, just three months after hiring him.


  • Cramer-Krasselt promoted WANDA MEDINA MCDONALD to chief financial officer.


  • KEVIN CIRRITO was promoted to vice president of integrated partnerships for IFC, serving the East Coast and LEE SPARER was promoted to vice president of integrated partnerships for IFC, serving the West Coast.


  • CLARE MCHUGH was named managing editor of All You. She replaces ISOBEL MCKENZIE-PRICE who returns to the UK as editorial director of Ideal Home. McHugh was previously executive editor of All You.


  • Metro New Yorknamed JONATHAN AUERBACH editor in chief. Auerbach joins Metro from Star magazine where he was executive editor for three years.


  • JANA O’BRIEN will be transitioning from her current role at GM Planworks to a new global role as EVP, chief consumer officer of Starcom MediaVest Group, where she will lead the network’s consumer context planning across all client brands.


  • U.S.News & World Report named BRIAN KELLY as editor. Kelly, the magazine’s executive editor since 2003, will succeed BRIAN DUFFY, who resigned last month to pursue writing projects.


  • MARK JOSEPHSON has been named president of Seevast, overseeing all of the company’s sales, business development, marketing and client services efforts. In addition, JAAN JANES has been appointed senior vice president of business development for Pulse 360 Inc.


  • Discovery Communications has named ANGELA SHAPIRO-MATHES president and general manager, TLC. Shapiro-Mathes is currently president of Fox Television Studios, responsible for the company’s scripted, alternative, digital media and international divisions.


  • G2 Direct & Digital appointed CHRISTOPHER ABELT to lead its Financial Service Practice Group.


  • CORY GADDIS joined WhitePages.com as an account manager in the East Coast sales office. Previously, Gaddis was an account manger at 121Media.


  • Advertising Age named JACKIE GHEDINE as national sales manager. Creativity promoted ADAM GOLD to general manger, up from advertising director.


  • Precision Prospects hired GLENN PAGAN as vice president of business development. Most recently, Pagan was CEO of Ascent Marketing.


  • JIM CHILDS, book publisher of The Taunton Press, will resign at the end of the month to take on a new assignment at Southern Progress, a division of Time Warner.


  • OLSON named KARL WOLF as an associate creative director/art director. He joins the agency from Target Corporation, where he served as senior art director.
