  • Upshot named JULIE ROBINSON as vice president, account management.


  • SAMANTHA BERTRAM and ANTHONY WICKHAM joined R/GA London as group account directors. Bertram will develop and manage the agency’s SC Johnson’s UK relationship and Wickham will lead the Nokia UK account.


  • imc 2 hired  ALAN SCHULMAN, co-founder and chief creative officer of Brand New World, as svp, executive creative director.


  • ETHAN SIMBLIST was named director of agency and brand sales at Pulse 360. Simblist joins the company from IAC Advertising Solutions.


  • GRAHAM SAXTON was named managing director of the Media and Entertainment Insights International Division at OTX. Most recently, Saxton spent 10 years as senior vice president, research and planning for MTV Networks International.


  • JEREMY CRISP joined nail as managing partner. Crisp joins from JWT Ireland, where he spent five years, most recently as managing director, working on clients such as The National Lottery, Amstel Beer and Microsoft.


  • Esrock Partners named NANCY PETRO as a senior account manager.


  • PointRoll promoted BECKY CHURILLA to director of marketing.


  • PHILIP I. KENT, chairman and chief executive officer, Turner Broadcasting System, has been elected as chair of The Advertising Council. Kent has been a member of the Ad Council Board of Directors since 2003, most recently serving as vice chair. He will serve in this position for one year.


  • MICHAEL GABLE joined Revenue Science as director of sales, west. Most recently, he was the sales director at Premiere Global Services.


  • Explore Communications hired MEGAN MILLER as a planner and buyer.


  • Carat Entertainment and MY Entertainment Company appointed JOSEPH TOWNLEY as chief operating officer. He most recently served as executive producer on the Spike TV and MY Entertainment series Pros vs. Joes and as a consultant to Sports Capital Partners.


  • Rodale Inc. elected MARIA RODALE as chairman of the board of directors. Rodale succeeds ARDATH RODALE, who will remain a member of the Board and assume the new title of chief inspiration officer.


  • GREG VERDINO and STEVE COULSON joined crayon as chief strategy officer and chief creative officer respectively.


  • Initiative North America established an East Coast presence for its Los Angeles-based Innovations unit. DAVE ROSNER, previously a project manager and based in Initiative's Los Angeles office, has been named director, Innovations, Initiative East, and will move to New York to head the group. In addition, former account manager JONATHAN HABER has been named director, Innovations, Initiative West. Lastly, GREG CASTRONUOVO, formerly vice president, group account director, was elevated to senior vice president, group account director, Entertainment.


  • Carton Donofrio Partners named CRAIG STRYDOM associate creative director.


  • AL KELLY has been named executive creative director for Fallon Minneapolis. He joins the company from Strawberryfrog Amsterdam where he was executive creative director for the past two years. He lead creative work for Heineken Global, the ASICS fashion brand Onitsuka Tiger, Douwe Egberts coffee products and Barilla.


  • BURL OSBORNE has joined Mochila’s Media Advisory Board.


  • Captivate Network named JEANNINE ANTUS KONCAR as vice president of sales, west coast, responsible for overseeing the west coast sales team and continuing to grow the national ad sales business.


  • TERRY SEMEL resigned as CEO of Yahoo and was replaced by co-founder JERRY YANG. Former executive vice president SUE DECKER now assumes the role of president.


  • PARTNERS+simons promoted NANCY BOND CARLE and ANTHONY HENRIQUES to creative directors.


  • KATE STEPHENSON was promoted to president, global account management for OMD. She will be responsible for leading the company’s Global Account Management program, which includes global and multi-national client service strategy, resources, capabilities, and best practices within and across global/multi-national accounts.


  • SCOTT CROMER was promoted to director of strategic planning for the Portland office of Wieden+Kennedy. Cromer replaces SUDEEP GOHIL, who left the agency in May.


  • Fuse named BETH LEWAND, vice president of digital media. Lewand will be responsible for overseeing the strategy and implementation of fuse's multi-platform initiatives across mobile, VOD, and online mediums. Most recently, she was vice president of digital media programming and production at Comedy Central.


  • HAL MUCHNICK joined Operative as executive vice president and general manager.


  • RON WILLIAMS, most recently vice president, director of presentation services for Publicis USA, launched design studio, PitchOne Presentations.


  • SCOTT WELCH joined Illingworth Communications as account executive.


  • G2 Direct & Digital named MICHAEL ASARO director of digital operations.


  • JEFF GOLDBERG joined VERSUS as vice president of programming. Goldberg joins VERSUS from Discovery Channel where as vice president of programming he oversaw program acquisitions for Discovery, Science, Military and Times Channels and devised programming strategies for the network.


  • CHRISTOPHER HERMES was promoted to president of Latin3. Hermes formerly held the position of vice president of marketing strategy & services.


  • The VIA Group hired ALEKA KARACHALIOS as a client strategist. Prior to joining VIA, Karachalios served as a senior advertising and brand manager for AOL. In addition, the agency hired MIKE IRVINE as a copywriter. Irvine will be responsible for working with VIA client TD Banknorth.


  • CINDY KENYON joined Rapp Collins Dallas as svp of planning and strategy; ROBERT ANDERSON was named executive creative director; and SUSAN OSTERLOH joined Rapp Collins Healthcare as a creative director.


  • SPENCE KRAMER joined Wieden+Kennedy as global account director working on the Nike account. Kramer will be responsible for overseeing W+K's Nike business globally, focusing on consistent consumer communication, brand voice, user experiences and business growth. Most recently, he served as vice president of marketing and communications for Virgin America, where he led and oversaw all marketing and public relations activity for the domestic startup airline.


  • WONGDOODY hired SCOTT LAMBERT as its new associate design director to lead the design division in the Los Angeles office.


  • Gemstar-TV Guide International named DEBRA BIRNBAUM executive editor, cross-platform content integration. Birnbaum has been a consultant with TV Guide since January.


  • CHRIS BOSCO was promoted to senior vice president, finance, Metro-Goldwyn-Mayer Studios Inc. In his new position, Bosco takes on supervision of all financial matters for the studio’s theatrical marketing, production finance and the newly forged home entertainment production unit in addition to his ongoing responsibilities managing MGM’s financial reporting.


  • MICHAEL DUDA was promoted to partner/chief corporate strategy officer at Deutsch, up from partner/director of business development and corporate initiatives. Originally with Deutsch as part of the Business Development group from 1998 to 2000, he rejoined the agency in June 2001 after serving as svp, director of business development at Rapp Collins.


  • Popular Sciencenamed RICHARD RASOR as advertising director and NATALIE DIAMOND and TARYN YOUNG as account managers.


  • OMD named JENNIFER RAZOR U.S. director of business development. She will be responsible for leading business growth and direction for OMD and prospective clients. She joins the company from Initiative Media where she served as senior vice president, director of business development.


  • ICON International promoted JAMES MONGELLO to Print/OOH buyer.
