Viacom Media Networks has a new COO of advertising sales.

Viacom advertising veteran John Halley will be executive vice president and COO of ad sales, responsible for pricing and inventory, commercial operations, finance and business intelligence functions across the Viacom Media Networks ad sales for linear TV and digital platforms.

This includes Viacom Media Networks' Music & Entertainment Ad Sales. The company's adult-focused brands include MTV, VH1, CMT, Logo, Comedy Central, TV Land and Spike, and Nickelodeon Group Ad Sales for all its TV networks and platforms.

Halley will have three reports: Jeff Lucas, head of sales of music and entertainment for Viacom Media Networks; Jim Perry, head of sales of the Nickelodeon Group, and Rich Eigendorff, chief operating officer of business intelligence for Viacom Media Networks.

Previously, Halley was senior vice president of ad sales finance since 2007, adding ad sales business intelligence in 2008. He has been responsible for the company's reporting, financial planning and controls functions.

Before Viacom, Halley was CFO of integrated marketing agency Pipeline. Halley also held senior music industry positions at PolyGram and as CFO of Time Bomb Recordings, a joint venture of Arista / BMG.
