Bon & Viv Founder Makes Cameo In New Spot

On the “tails” of a Super Bowl ad that introduced mermaid characters who produce their eponymous Bon & Viv Spiked Seltzer in their underwater world, the brand is debuting a follow-up an ad that includes a sly cameo.

The new “Buoy” ad (30-second version below) shows the mermaids sending up a crate of their seltzer to two fishermen — the younger of whom (above right) is played by Nick Shields.

Shields co-founded and still oversees the brand, which was called SpikedSeltzer prior to its 2016 acquisition and recent rebranding by Anheuser-Busch InBev.

This second ad in the rebranding campaign is also from the Bullish agency and also shot by Dan Laustsen, cinematographer for “The Shape of Water.”

The ad begins running this week in 15- and 30-second versions on Bon & Viv’s social channels, including Instagram. The shorter version will begin airing on TV starting March 11.
