WBD's Max Adds A Sports Tier - Simulcast With TNT, TBS, TruTV

Looking to boost its live, real-time viewing for its Max streaming service, Warner Bros. Discovery's Max will be adding a $9.99/month sports tier -- Bleacher Report Sports Add-On.

Sports programming on the tier will start up October 5, and will be simulcast with the same sports programming on TNT, TBS, and TruTV.

The launch will come in time for the Major League Baseball postseason, as well as the start of the NHL regular season and NBA "Opening Night."

The sports tier will be made available in the U.S. as an add-on to all Max entertainment packages – Max With Ads, Max Ad-Free and Max Ultimate Ad-Free -- which are currently priced at $9.99/month, $15.99/month, and $19.99 a month respectively.

Existing Max customers will get sports including Major League Baseball, NHL NBA, and NCAA Men's March Madness free for nearly five months, and will be charged $9.99 a month afterwards.

Max is also pushing other live content. Warner Bros. Discovery is starting a streaming effort called CNN Max on September 27 -- a streaming news testing ground on the Max premium streaming service.

It is built to cater to streaming users who are familiar with programming on the linear, live CNN network such as “Amanpour,” “Anderson Cooper 360,” “The Lead with Jake Tapper,” “The Situation Room with Wolf Blitzer.”
