Long-Time ANA Counsel Wood Leaves Reed Smith, Opens Private Practice

Long-time advertising industry attorney and General Counsel of the Association of National Advertisers Douglas Wood has left law firm Reed Smith LLP and has opened his own private practice: the Law Offices of Douglas J. Wood.

"After 47 years working for law firms, I'm starting anew with a solo practice focused on entertainment, media, and advertising law," Wood disclosed in a post on his LinkedIn account, adding: "I joined Reed Smith in February 2004 together with a crew of about 30 people from my old firm, Hall Dickler."

As part of his roles at both firms, Wood has served as the ANA's General Counsel, advising the trade association on a variety of legal and regulatory matters through some of the industry's most tumultuous years.

"Reed Smith remains the ANA’s counsel and I am now counsel to the ANA Board, assisting it in its role overseeing the operations of the ANA," Wood explained in response to a query from MediaPost.

A fitting next (I won't say last knowing Doug) chapter in an already glorious career. I look forward to continuing our partnership with the ANA. And hope this means you have more time to write criminal fiction.
