    Nextel Communications Inc. today announced it has selected TBWA\Chiat\Day New York as its creative agency of record following a comprehensive advertising agency review process. Nextel also awarded its direct marketing responsibilities to TEQUILA\New York, TBWA's marketing services network. Nextel's previous agency for brand and promotional advertising was Mullen, Wenham, Mass. Nextel expects to complete its media agency review in the coming weeks.

    Medicis Communications, Hoodoo Design and Advertising and Initiative Media
    The San Diego Padres today announced that they have extended their pre-existing relationship with their advertising buying partner, Initiative Media, through the 2003 season. The two agencies will help the Padres develop television, radio and print branding campaigns for 2003. Medicis will cover the Padres’ Hispanic market advertising, while Hoodoo will handle the clubs’ general market advertising.

    Del Mar Fairgrounds announced selected Medicis Communications of Bonita and Tijuana as their agency of record. Medicis will cover the San Diego County Fair’s (the largest and oldest annual event in the county) Hispanic market advertising.
