    Openwave Systems, a provider of open software products and services for the communications and media industry, has named Y&R San Francisco a brand consultant partner. The agency will develop Openwave's brand strategy, messaging architecture, and corporate identity system, with work focusing on Openwave's consumer audience. Spending was not released.

    McClain Finlon
    CUNA Mutual Group has selected McClain Finlon Advertising as its first agency of record. Previous advertising was handled in-house. Work will break online this month. The Bedford Group, Atlanta, managed the search. The agency bested Tierney Communications, Philadelphia; Periscope, Minneapolis; Mackenzie, Minneapolis; Eric Mower and Associates, Syracuse; Masius, New York; and HSR Business to Business, Cincinnati, for the win. Spending is undisclosed.

    MPG has been awarded media planning and buying responsibilities by the International Truck and Engine Corporation. The account was won following a review and will be handled out of MPG's Chicago office. Bagby and Company, Chicago, will handle creative chores. Fallon previously handled the account.
