    XM Satellite Radio has narrowed its search for an agency to handle creative duties on its $50 million account down to four. The Richards Group, Wieden + Kennedy, Lowe Worldwide and DDB Worldwide remain in contention. Incumbent Mullen did not participate in the review.

    Looney Advertising has been named agency of record for Gelazzi, a chain of gelato restaurants on the West Coast. There was no review for the account. The campaign will include, print, radio, promotions, in-store, brand identity, guerrilla, direct mail, event and PR components.

    Without a review, The Speed Network has named BooneOakley advertising agency of record for the network's '07 NASCAR promotional campaign. Media will include TV, radio, outdoor, magazine, newspaper, event marketing, online, and VOD elements. Spending is estimated at $3 million.
  • The Academy of Motion Picture Arts and Sciences

    The Academy of Motion Picture Arts and Sciences has appointed TBWAChiatDay Los Angeles as its advertising agency of record for the 79th Annual Academy Awards. This marks the first time that the Academy has hired an agency to produce the telecast. The campaign will include TV, outdoor and print advertising.

    BCF has been named agency of record for the Virginia Tourism Corporation, responsible for media planning, advertising, and sponsorship strategies on the $3 million account.

    Digital Pulp has been selected to handle Web site redesigns for The New York Botanical Garden, The Harvard JFK School of Government and The Harvard Family Research Project.
  • Sara Lee Food & Beverage
    Hillshire Farm
    Sara Lee Food & Beverage has selected TBWA/Chiat/Day, Los Angeles, as its ad agency of record for the Hillshire Farm brand, following a review. Element 79 previously handled the account. TBWA/Chiat/Day will become agency of record for several brands under Sara Lee Food & Beverage, including Jimmy Dean, Ball Park, Sara Lee and Senseo. The agency will aid in strategic development and execution of U.S. advertising for Hillshire Farm brand products. It will also be responsible for TV, radio, print and outdoor advertising. Starcom handles the media buying. The account is estimated at $25 million.

    Goodby, Silverstein & Partners is the latest agency to exit Safeway's review of broadcast creative and media duties, estimated at $250 million. Euro RSCG and DDB remain in contention.
