    Sears Holding Corp., owner of Sears Roebuck & Co. and Kmart, placed its $780 million media planning and buying account in review. Incumbents MindShare and MEC Interaction will defend.
  • Sprint
    Goodby, Silverstein & Partners
    Goodby, Silverstein & Partners was awarded the creative portion of Sprint's $1.2 billion advertising account.
  • Philips
    Carat
    Philips awarded incumbent Carat its $600 million global media account. The agency bested Mediaedge:cia for the win.

    Spalding awarded KSL media planning and buying duties on its multimedia campaign.
  • Qwest Communications
    In Review
    Qwest Communications placed the creative portion of its $95 million advertising account in review. Rivet, a unit of DraftFCB, currently handles the work.

    Citing creative differences, la comunidad Miami resigned the Subway advertising account. The agency was named Hispanic agency of record in July 2003.
  • Greyhound
    Butler, Shine, Stern & Partners
    Greyhound Lines awarded its advertising and marketing account to Butler, Shine, Stern & Partners. The agency pitched the account along with Hispanic marketing agency The Vidal Partnership and public relations agency Edelman. The account is estimated at $20 million.

    Arnold and Fallon have advanced in the review for the creative portion of Volvo's $150 million advertising account. Incumbent Euro RSCG and 180 in Amsterdam did not advance.

    R/GA has been selected by Sunglass Hut to expand its online brand presence. R/GA was awarded the account after a three-month review, competing against agencies such as Organic and Avenue A/Razorfish.

    Cadbury Schweppes tapped VML to handle digital marketing duties for its beverage brands, including Snapple, Dr Pepper, 7Up, Sunkist and Nantucket Nectars.

    JWT scored creative chores on Macy's upcoming fall campaign.

    McCann Worldgroup
    McCann Worldgroup San Francisco was named agency of record for Boys & Girls Clubs of America. Advertising on the pro bono account is expected to debut in 2008.

    The Republik
    Riley named The Republik as its first advertising agency of record. A $1 million budget will go to name development, content development, experiential marketing, viral video, Web site design and direct mail. First work will appear this month. Riley will turn new luxury homes into media vehicles for select upscale home products and services.

    Niagara County Community College named Stand Advertising as agency of record for a renewable one-year term. Advertising was handled in-house for the last five years. First work will break in the fall. Spending is less than $1 million.
