AOL today is expected to relaunch its Winamp music media player with a new artist discovery tool, an e-commerce platform, iTunes syncing capability and additional language support.

The Winamp Web site has also been updated with an artist discovery section, and a merchandise store. With the relaunch, third-party Web services developers can now embed their Web sites into Winamp.

At launch, services from six partners, including OurStage Radio, SHOUTcast, and Spinner MP3 of the Day, are available directly in Winamp. Developers have access to Winamp APIs and documentation to build and publish their own online services, and add to a growing library of third party services.

Winamp merchandise is now available at the "Gear" store with official Winamp and Llama-inspired designs including t-shirts, mugs, stickers, posters and more.--Gavin O'Malley
