Decent crowd kicking off Day 2 of the Four As Media Conference
here. Better than I’d expected from all the pre-conference trade press hype. It’s down, but not for the count. And there are only a few seats available at the tables in the room.
Wednesday’s sessions, by the way, were much more packed and engaging than I remember past year’s being, and the Four As should be credited
with turning Wednesday into the real opening of this “three-day†conference. It’s the one that’s full of the real meat-and-potato discussions about what we really need to
do in this business.
Wednesday’s used to be a throw-away â€" for the trade press, anyway â€" full of private committee meetings,
and the opening cocktail and dinner receptions. Snzzzzz.
The only problem with Wednesday being such a great start to the conference, is it’s
making the abbreviated Friday morning sessions look tepid in comparison. Maybe the Four As should rethink that one too. Maybe they already have. I’ll report back on that tomorrow.
