I’m only observing this because I happen to be stuck in the
back of the ballroom in the New Orleans Hilton, which only has one electrical plug available for me to plug into (and to keep blogging throughout this day). But it’s given me an interesting
vantage point, as I watch some opening session stragglers enter the room and search for a free seat. There aren’t many left, so they have to hunt and peck. And some of them are some big names
in the industry (who shall go unnamed).
My point? They must have believed the pre-conference hype about a poor turnout and figured they’d be
able to stroll in late and easily grab a seat.
