Yeah, Right, And I'm A 'Consumer' Too

So, good idea for the Four As to open up with some “live consumer panels” at the Four As media conference (not that that’s such a new and innovative format, but it’s always good), but based on the first one â€" the “Young Consumers Panel (Age 20-30), I have to question the definition of “consumer.”

After hearing their introductions, it seems to me that five our of six of them were somehow running, or trying to run, some kind of media enterprise. Actually, that’s the same thing I’m trying to do, so I guess I’m a consumer too.

By the way, my favorite moment so far on this panel, was the stoner emo gal with the page boy haircut who confessed that she doesn’t actually use Facebook.

She tried it once, she said, and “never logged in again.”

So much for the stereotypical twentysomething-year-old.

Also, when panel moderator, Ed Cotton of Butler, Shine, Stern & Partners, noted that he’d heard they all twitter, another gal said, “What is that?” (I think she was sincere.)
