We all know the teen market is extremely attractive to advertisers. Now, a Teen.com survey, biased as it may or may not be, may offer some incentive for spending more on advertising to teens
online.
That's simply because the Internet has become the key component to teenagers' lives and it is imperative for them to have access at home, the survey says. Of 4,491 Teen.com visitors
surveyed, 86% use the Internet from home.
Additionally, according to the survey, 57% influenced their parents on which computer brands to buy and 52% have more than one computer in the home.
More importantly, 24% of Teen.com's visitors report having a computer in their room and emphasize the importance of interesting content, instant messenger, email and chat.
Today, computer
savvy teenagers know where to turn on the Web for all the latest information and they are doing so by logging on more frequently from home, Teen.com says.
So how and where do teens turn to the
Internet to check the facts on their favorite musicians, look for new fashions to flatter their figures, or reach out to a friend? Teen.com visitor Michelle comments, "I check out new music and
artists online. I'll get advice, look up certain subjects or clothing brands. I also use the Internet to play games, download music, watch videos and talk to family and friends. The first thing I
start when I put on the computer is my Instant Messenger."
Something to consider the next time you target teens.
