CPGs Need To Move Advertising Online

Consumer products goods companies are missing an opportunity to save money and save a few trees, according to Gian Fulgoni, chairman and cofounder, comScore, who opened the OMMA Global Hollywood conference on Monday. He said CPG companies need to move coupons to the internet and allow consumers to print them as they need them. About 90% of the coupons are distributed in circulars. "It's crazy why not shift these things online," he said. The trillion dollar industry spends million in advertising, but very little goes online. That's were the consumers are going. In fact, a recent comScore study suggests that people are getting through difficult economic times by spending time online. Fifty two percent said they surf the Internet, while 50% watch television and 36% watch movies.
