Disney Online has agreed to acquire the Internet assets of Toronto-based Kaboose Inc. for $18.4 million. The deal covers properties including Kaboose.com, Babyzone.com, AmazingMoms.com, Funschool.com
and Zeeks.com.
Paul Yanover, executive vice president and managing director of Disney Online, said in a statement the acquisition would complement Disney kids and family sites,
which draw nearly 27 million unique visitors a month. Besides the flagship Disney.com, they include DisneyFamily.com, FamilyFun.com and iParenting.com.
A Disney spokesperson said Wednesday that
no decisions had yet been made about whether each of the Kaboose Web properties would be maintained as independent sites.--Tanya Irwin
