Jeff McCombs, former chief of staff to former Yahoo President Sue Decker, has become the CFO of online advertising company Tumri. McCombs left Yahoo following Decker's resignation in January as part of a broader reorganization at the company under new CEO Carol Bartz.

At Mountain View, Calif.-based Tumri, McCombs will be responsible for managing all financial activities as well as accounting, investor relations and corporate development, human resources and legal.

Tumri's AdPod -- a variation on the interactive display unit -- allows marketers to tailor ad content such as a call-to-action, pricing and background on the fly to different target audiences and boost performance. HP, Lenovo, Sears and British Airways are among the advertisers that have used the AdPod platform.

The company raised $10 million in a second-round venture funding in June 2007 led by Lehman Brothers Venture Partners.

In addition to serving as Decker's chief of staff, McCombs was most recently senior vice president of business operations at Yahoo, helping to implement business strategy and manage operations.

Before joining Yahoo, McCombs spent more than a decade in investment banking and private equity at firms such as Credit Suisse First Boston, Lehman Brothers and Shamrock Capital, Roy Disney's private equity firm.

"Jeff brings an incredible amount of expertise to the Tumri team, both in terms of corporate strategy and finance as well as the ever evolving online marketing industry," said Calvin Lui, president and CEO of Tumri.

McCombs is only the latest ex-Yahoo executive to surface at another Internet company following the collapse of the Web portal's proposed merger with Microsoft and former CEO Jerry Yang's replacement by Bartz last year.

Former Yahoo sales exec Greg Coleman, for instance, became the head of AOL's Platform-A advertising division in February, and Todd Teresi, who oversaw advertising on Yahoo's publisher network, is now chief revenue officer of Web measurement firm Quantcast.
