GM Expected To Buy Ads At Upfront

General Motors is planning to buy commercial time during next month's upfront, despite the carmaker's financial woes, reports the New York Post. GM's decision brings relief to the ad market, since it is one of the nation's biggest advertisers. Many media companies have doubts about GM's ability to pay, however, and want to limit their risk. But the poor ad market means they can't turn GM away, only negotiate shorter payment plans.
