MediaPost publisher Ken Fadner got the Search Insider Summit off
on a metrics-oriented start, that got program chairman Gord Hotchkiss a little off-guard. Actually, he stepped on his opening line.
In introducing
newcomers to the small, high-level event, Fadner asked for a show of hands on how many first-timers were here today. More than half of the 100-plus crowd raised their hands.
“Doh! He stole my opening act,†quipped Hotchkiss, who said he planned on asking how many people in the room were “SIVs.†By
SIV, Hotchkiss didn’t mean a new prime-time spin-off on CBS, but actually an insider-ish acronym for a Search Insider Virgin.
