Food For Thought: From Pomegranate Martinis To Meat Loaf

Cella Irvine, President and CEO, The About Group, tells OMMA Publish attendees that some of the most interesting â€" and fun â€" data coming off About.com’s search query database is “trend-spotting,” and in particular, spotting food trends.

She says you can literally see a shift in America’s cultural culinary zeitgeist as a result of the “climate” that has been created by the recession. And a clear shift toward “comfort foods.”

“People are looking for meat loaf instead of pomegranate martinis,” she said. Yum, sounds a lot better than meatloaftinis.
