Clarification: 'Raw' Sale A Joke

World Wrestling Entertainment caught a number of media publications off guard --including TV Guide, Bloomberg and MediaPost (Trump Adds To TV Holdings, Gets 'Raw", MDN, June 16) when it announced it was selling "Monday Night Raw," which runs on USA Network, to Donald Trump.

It turns out the deal was fictional -- part of an ongoing storyline that includes a faux feud between Trump and WWE chairman Vince McMahon. Because many didn't get the joke, USA Network released a statement: "We intended the release to be promotional for that ongoing story arc on the series... There is no such actual 'sale.' We apologize for any confusion."
