Yahoo Unveils Mobile Syncing For New Home Page

  • July 29, 2009
As promised, Yahoo Tuesday unveiled a revamped mobile home page allowing users to sync selections and settings from the Internet giant's redesigned PC-based home page announced last week.

The new customizable desktop version of the Yahoo home page lets users choose from a variety of Yahoo and third-party "apps"-windows that allow people to preview sites without clicking through--in a My Favorites column on the left. Now users can also export their app selections to Yahoo's mobile site.

The new PC-to-mobile sync feature is available today on more than 400 devices in 17 countries, and will roll out to additional markets and devices in the near future, according to Yahoo. The company also announced that it had launched new versions of Yahoo properties including the home page, Search, Local, Finance, News and Mail optimized for the iPhone.
