That was the way OMMA M&M programming chair Jodi McDermott introduced afternoon keynoter Brett Crosby, group manager, Google.

Actually, she read his OMMA luncheon fortune cookie: “Now is the time to call loved ones at a distance. Share you news.”

Even she said she wasn’t sure what that meant, but it did seem to suggest something newsy was about to take place.

“I know what you’re thinking,” Crosby began, “sweet, another vendor pitch.”

Nonetheless, Crosby promised to “entertain” first, and inform second.

So that doesn’t explain why one of the first graphics in his Powerpoint presentation was an old school Internet log file. Literally, a bunch of numbers and digits.
