McDonald's, Comcast Multicultural Award Winners

  • October 6, 2009
McDonald's and its agency, Burrell, captured two of the Association of National Advertisers' 2009 Multicultural Excellence Awards, as did Comcast and Grupo Callegos.

Now in its ninth year, the awards recognize Association of National Advertisers member companies and other marketers for their work in producing superior multicultural advertising campaigns that ran between June 2008 and May 2009. Winners were named in seven categories, including a new category highlighting exceptional work in radio advertising.

McDonald's/Burrell won the top award in the African-American category and for "campaign with significant results." Comcast and Grupo Callegos won in the Hispanic category and also the radio category. Allstate Insurance and Lapiz took the grand prize in the digital media category, while the California Dept. of Public Health with its agency Apartnership, Inc. won in the Asian category. Miller Coors and Saatchi & Saatchi won the top prize in the general market category.

A portion of the proceeds collected from the awards submission fees will be used to help fund scholarships for high-potential multicultural students who plan to pursue careers in advertising and/or marketing.--Tanya Irwin
