  • December 8, 2009

Brightcove has struck a deal with TubeMogul for the company's technology to power analytics in the broadband video provider's platform. Under the agreement, Brightcove will license TubeMogul's In Play software, allowing users to track metrics such as audience engagement, attention span and site performance in real time.

The two companies will also collaborate on developing more advanced analytics offerings as well as on marketing and sales efforts. "Together with TubeMogul, we're providing our worldwide customer base with access to next-generation analytics technologies that will help these organizations to deliver more impactful, engaging video content," said Brightcove CEO Jeremy Allaire, in a statement Tuesday.

The company last month introduced the latest version of its system, which includes support for native iPhone video application development, along with expanded live streaming capabilities.

TubeMogul earlier this year announced an alliance with Web video company FeedRoom to partner a new service that automatically distributes videos to dozens of video-sharing sites and reports on viewership. --Mark Walsh
