Apple Inc has acquired Quattro Wireless in order to ramp up its prowess in the mobile advertising arena. No purchase price was quoted, but analysts pet it as around $275 million, per

While Apple's iPhone has been a huge hit, Google's Android platform is also gaining plenty of traction in the smartphone
market. Google is expected to unveil its own smartphone -- the Nexus One. Quattro is also a competitor to AdMob, which Google agreed to acquire in November for $750 million.
