Rutman To Manage Ad Council Media

Charlie Rutman

Former Carat senior executive Charlie Rutman will manage all media planning and partnership efforts for The Ad Council.

The Ad Council, a non-profit organization, provides public service advertising for non-profit organizations and other businesses. Last year, media outlets donated $1.8 billion in advertising time for 50 different Ad Council PSA campaigns.

Rutman, through his consulting firm End Zone Communications, will direct all national and local media outreach initiatives, nationally and locally, for television, radio, magazine, newspaper, outdoor and alternative media platforms.

Previously, Tim Davis headed The Ad Council's media group for several years.

This means securing partnerships and support from major media companies such as Comcast, Time Warner, Clear Channel and Meredith Corporation, the Ad Council said in a release.

Rutman was president of Carat USA and also held senior-level media positions at DMB&B and Bates.

Peggy Conlon, president & CEO of the Ad Council, stated: "Charlie has been a leader in the media industry for over 30 years and his significant experience in the areas of strategic planning and marketing will be an invaluable asset to the Ad Council and the critically important issues that we address."
