Ryan O'Hara Leaves TV Guide Network

Ryan O'Hara

Ryan O'Hara, president of TV Guide Network and TVGuide.com, has left for a new post in New York. No details were disclosed on his upcoming career move.

During his nearly 5 years as president -- especially since Lionsgate and One Equity Partners acquired the TV Guide Network nine months ago -- O'Hara oversaw the acquisition of various shows, such as "Ugly Betty" and HBO's "Curb Your Enthusiasm."

He also forged new long-term distribution agreements with Comcast and Charter, while growing the network from 5 million unique users in 2007 to 21 million today.

Lionsgate CEO Chief Executive Officer Jon Feltheimer stated that O'Hara, an eight-year vet of TV Guide, was a "key architect of the channel's continued evolution into a fully distributed, full-screen general entertainment network that will play an important role in the cable landscape of the future."

TV Guide Network Board Chairman Allen Shapiro added that he and Feltheimer have "tremendous confidence" in the executive team that will now run TVGN and TVGuide.com.

One of those executives is the recently promoted Diane Robina, now EVP, development, acquisition and programming strategy. She continues as president of FEARnet, the multiplatform horror network.

O'Hara said it was the "right time" for him to move to "a new entrepreneurial opportunity. ... I believe the trajectory of the business has never been better."

TV Guide Network is seen in more than 80 million homes nationwide.
