NASCAR Opens The Doors to Multiple Automakers at ISC Tracks

If you are a NASCAR fan, and you have a few hours to kill before the race, and you happen to be at a track run by International Speedway Corp. (which owns that famous one down in Daytona) you won't get bored! The company is going to give the exterior midway area outside the stands a bit of an auto-show feel. It used to be that one automaker at a time sponsored races. General Motors, for instance, use to own Daytona Speedway for NASCAR races. But ISC's new deal gives Toyota, Ford, Dodge and GM equal opportunity at the races there. That means instead of just GM vehicles displays, the other automakers will be cheek and jowl on the midway.

ISC is doing this with some eight tracks, per the folks there. It's worth mentioning that automakers may like this situation now not only because it's cheaper than exclusivity at a track, and because the sheer numbers of people who see the brands' products go way up over the year, but because the domestic automakers now actually have lots of vehicles they don't mind showing against competitors.
