Nielsen IPO 'Rumor and Speculation'

No surprise here: Nielsen CFO Brian West declined comment on a report that the company’s private-equity backers are looking to do an IPO. “It’s all rumor and speculation,� he said on a conference call.

The Financial Times reported the six owners are looking for a valuation of $21 billion.

In 2006, the firms -- AlpInvest Partners, the Blackstone Group, the Carlyle Group, Hellman & Friedman, Kohlberg Kravis Roberts and Thomas H. Lee Partners -- purchased Nielsen at a value of more than $10 billion and took it private.
