'New York' Magazine Debuts Android App

  • May 27, 2010
Nymag.com, the Web version of New York magazine, has a new home on the Android platform. The publication's free app features its five daily blogs: Daily Intel on news, Vulture on entertainment, The Cut on Fashion, Grub Street on food and restaurants, and The Sports Section.

The app is also geared to local New York environs. Because it loads complete blog posts and not just headlines, people can catch up with them when they're on the subway or anywhere else mobile service isn't available.

Other features include in-app Web browsing that lets users click on linked text in a post without leaving the application, the ability to email links to blog posts to address book contacts, and a widget that displays the latest headlines, updated every fifteen minutes. Nymag.com doesn't have an equivalent iPhone app yet, but there is one for sister site MenuPages.com. --Mark Walsh

Can anyone shed some light as to who actually developed/built the app for New York magazine?
