Seeking to bolster its wireless research practice, comScore said Thursday it had acquired the products division of Nexius, which provides analytics on wireless
network performance, capacity and configuration. Terms of the deal were not disclosed.
The acquisition would broaden comScore's offerings aimed at mobile operators, providing data meant to
help wireless providers build more efficient networks and improve customer service. The wireless analytics capability added through the Nexius deal could be integrated with separate comScore tools to
help media clients expanding into mobile.
"The explosive growth of mobile data services is driving growth and profitability in the sector but has also dramatically increased the amount and
complexity of customer data that operators must manage in this highly competitive global marketplace," said comScore President & CEO Dr. Magid Abraham, in a statement. "With this acquisition,
comScore now offers a more comprehensive set of capabilities that operators can leverage to drive value for their partners and customers."

As part of the merger, Nexius CEO Nabil Taleb will
join comScore senior management team and will be named executive vice president of comScore Wireless Solutions. The company estimates the deal will add about $4 million to comScore's 2010 revenue,
"with similar profitability margins to the balance of comScore's business." The company had revenue of $31.6 million in the first quarter of 2010 and $127.7 million in 2009.
