Google Launches Google Fiber Site

Google launched a Google Fiber for Communities Web site to outline the next steps in the development of its experimental ultra-high speed broadband network plan.

The Mountain View, Calif., search engine announced plans in February to build the networks, asking citizens to nominate communities to participate in the project. About 1,100 responses were submitted by March, according to Google. A map on the new Web site shows the communities where responses were submitted.

Although Google has yet to announce the winning cities, it launched a "Thank You" video on YouTube in response to the love.
