NBC.com or ABC.com: Who does better?

Just one day after NBC declared victory on the Internet front, ABC claims top spot with a different measuring company.

Nielsen Video Census puts ABC.com at 3.4 million unique visitors for the month of June. CBS is in second place at 2.4 million; Fox, 1.8 million; NBC, 1.4 million; and CW 229,000.

ABC says its best rated show, new series "The Gates" was at 814,000 unique visitors,; “The Bachelorette" was second, 797,000 million; and “General Hospital", third, at 646,000. ABC says it has remained in the top spot in this Nielsen VideoCensus for the last sixth months.

ABC says it also also scored well in total video streams, with “The Bachelorette” taking the spot spot with 14.4 million total streams; “General Hospital" came in fourth place at 7.0 million; and "The Gates" was in sixth place at 4.6 million.

NBC.com claimed the top spot earlier in the week among monthly unique visitors for the last six months when looking comScore Media Metrix results, at 8.3 million users. ABC.com was next at 7.1 million; CBS, was at 5.7 million; Fox.com, 4.9 million; and CWTV.com, was at 2.7 million.

Media Metrix looks at video content as well as non-video content.

A new service from comScore called Video Metrix placed a number of ABC.com shows in high positions when it came to unique visitors including summer competition effort "Wipeout."
