David Friend was named senior vice president, news, for the CBS Television Stations group. He will continue to oversee the station's news department, but add responsibility for CBS' owned stations. In
addition, he will work with CBS Radio executives to beef uplocal CBS news partnerships. Prior to joining WCBS in 2006, Friend was the SVP, business news at CNBC's global headquarters in New Jersey. He
also worked as a co-creator of "Extra."
