In the "Best Interactive Agency" issue of MEDIA Magazine, the top honors and the e award went to the interactive division of OgilvyOne - OgilvyInteractive. The firm has been named "Interactive Agency of the Year" for 2001 for its achievements in creative and online media planning and buying. Digitas, one of the largest stand-alone interactive agencies, was runner-up for top honors.

"We are thrilled to receive this award from MEDIA magazine for OgilvyInteractive," said Carla Hendra, President of OgilvyOne North America. "It is especially rewarding to be recognized for the work we have done, which over the past five years has seen us bring numerous innovations to the field of digital marketing from a creative and media perspective. Now as never before, interactive marketing has become a mainstream communications discipline."

Five other agencies are being recognized for excellence in specialized areas. Planning and buying awards went to Avenue A, Exile on Seventh and Mass Transit. Fallon Worldwide and Freestyle Interactive took home the creative awards. Full coverage of the awards and profiles of the winning agencies will be published in the January issue of MEDIA Magazine, which will also include the magazine's rankings of the Top 50 interactive agencies.

"We see these awards as a natural extension of MEDIA Magazine," says Ken Fadner, Publisher of MEDIA. "They help us communicate our mission, that 'we see the e in media' in a very tangible way. Most importantly, they put the spotlight on the deserving leaders of the industry who are excelling in these changing times."
