Speak Up, Or I'll Shoot! As reported by eMarketer, the Zelos Group projects that the transmission of photos from mobile devices will rise in popularity over the coming years, generating
$10 million in revenues in the US this year and a whopping $438 million in 2008. Zelos also projects that by 2008, one-third of mobile phone owners in the US will have camera phones.

And, for an idea of
how many people will have camera phones over the coming years, Strategy Analytics predicts that 147 million camera phones will be sold worldwide by the end of 2007, up from 16 million last year.

Recently, eMarketer Senior Analyst Ben
Macklin noted in his Research Brief entitled Mobile Phone Saturation Approaching in the US, that nearly everyone in the US who wants a mobile phone has one. Once full saturation is reached, mobile
operators have to set their sites on mobile data services, notes Macklin, for further opportunities. Indeed, mobile photo messaging should be one of these services.
