InterContinental Hotels Group (IHG) will be the official partner of the PGA Tour, Champions Tour and Nationwide Tour in the hotel and resort category, according to the PGA and IHG. The deal was signed
this week.
The Hotel Group owns InterContinental, Hotel Indigo, Crowne Plaza Hotels & Resorts, Holiday Inn, Holiday Inn Express, Staybridge Suites and Candlewood Suites .
As part of the deal Crowne Plaza will extend its three-year-old title sponsorship of the PGA Tour's Crowne Plaza Invitational at Colonial through 2015, per the company.
IHG
will offer a designated number of room nights for players across all three Tours; platinum status in the Priority Club Rewards program for all members; preferred rates for players, caddies, media
partners and PGA staff. The hotel chain gets personal appearances from players with IHG guests at tournaments and/or use of their name and likeness. The Hotel will also have a media
commitment, will do special events, and charitable activities. And PGATour.com will have a "hotel finder" on its tournament pages that let fans book hotel rooms
