McDonald's Officially Rolls Out Oatmeal

  • January 3, 2011
As of Jan. 3, McDonald's national rollout of its Fruit & Maple Oatmeal menu item is official.

The oatmeal, which delivers two of the daily recommended three servings of whole grains (32 grams of whole-grain oats) plus 25% of daily recommended fruit servings (about a half-cup), is the QSR's first new breakfast offering since 2008.

However, in line with the chain's increasing emphasis on offering healthier options along with burgers and other staples, the oatmeal will be available in all U.S. restaurants at any time of the day. It will be prepared on a made-to-order basis, with or without brown sugar topping (290 calories with the sugar, 260 without).
