U.S. Open Sponsor IHG Hotels Offers Breakfast In Bed, Courtside

IHG Hotels & Resorts is serving up a range of unique fan experiences and other activations for tennis fans traveling to New York for the U.S. Open, for which it serves as a tournament sponsor.

IHG’s marketing around the event includes a sweepstakes offering its rewards program members a chance to win a breakfast-in-bed experience for two on the tennis court in Louis Armstrong Stadium.

The “Bed on the Baseline” package includes a private car transfer to the stadium, a dedicated concierge escort, and a room service-style breakfast delivered to the winner and a guest as they lounge in bed with IHG robes and slippers. As highlights from the tournament play on the stadium’s big screen, they’ll also have the opportunity to drink The Watermelon Slice, a limited-edition cocktail featuring a blend of Moët & Chandon, watermelon juice, elderflower liqueur, and lime, with a watermelon wedge garnish. At the tournament, the drink will be served in a tennis-themed collectible cup.

Members can enter through Sept. 7 (the last day of the tournament) for a chance to win the experience, which will take place on Sept. 15.

IHG’s InterContinental New York Times Square location will also host a series of experiential events, including a meet-and-great with tennis stars Alexandra Eala, Ugo Humbert and Jelena Ostapenko.  Its Stinger Cocktail Bar & Kitchen will feature U.S. Open-themed food and beverage offerings, including such signature cocktails as “The Honey Deuce” (grey goose vodka, lemonade, and Chambord), and “The Ace Paloma” (Maestro Dobel Tequila, Fever-Tree Grapefruit Club Soda, black lava salt, and fresh lime).

InterContinental New York Times Square will also play host to a tennis legend, in partnership with Madame Tussauds New York. A wax figure of the iconic Billie Jean King will be on display.

King’s figure has been a fixture of the museum since it opened in November, 2000.

The location’s lobby and courtyard will also become a “Fan Zone” for the event, complete with live-stream coverage of the US Open Tennis Championships, as well as a table tennis setup.
