Former "Will & Grace" star Debra Messing is returning to NBC as the female lead in "Smash," produced by DreamWorks TV and UMS, reports Deadline.com. The show is about mounting a Marilyn Monroe-type
musical on a Broadway musical; Messing plays the lyricist.
