The Wall Street Journal Radio Network is working on a new general interest news program, "The Daily Wrap from The Wall Street Journal with Michael Castner," which will air live weekdays from 6-9 p.m. EST beginning sometime this spring, according to the company.

The show, which will broadcast from the WSJ offices in New York City, will draw on the newspaper's content to cover a variety of topics, including U.S and world news, politics, entertainment, health, technology, and sports.

In addition to Castner -- who currently hosts talk shows on two Clear Channel radio stations in Louisiana, and previously hosted shows for E! Network -- "The Daily Wrap" will also feature regular contributions and analysis from WSJ reporters, editors, and opinion columnists, along with appearances by special guests and people in the news.

Castner stated: "My goal for the show is to quickly and informally capture the essence of the day's top issues. I'll be talking with reporters and opinion leaders who will share information and observations. We'll look for unique details through conversation, not confrontation."

Nancy Abramson, executive director of The Wall Street Journal Radio Network, explained: "The show will complement the Journal brand -- expanded content and scope, fascinating stories and new ideas -- and provide an exciting new opportunity and alignment for advertisers."

According to the company, The Wall Street Journal Radio Network currently reaches over 400 affiliates nationwide with a variety of general and business news.

Some of the network's other programs include "The Wall Street Journal Report," "The Dow Jones Money Report," "Watching Your Wallet," "Barron's on Investment," "The Wall Street Journal This Morning" and "The Wall Street Journal This Weekend."
