The Beaver Creek, Colo.-based location chose the Saint Bernard because he is "industrious" and embodies the Rocky Mountain lifestyle. Originally bred for rescue in the Alps, he is perfectly suited to participating in dog-therapy programs, which Bachelor will be trained to support. Other breeds will join his "pack" as program representatives, including Miner, an English Cream Golden Retriever.
The dogs will make special appearances during "Bachelor Parties" starting in June, during which time visitors will be invited to meet the new ambassador puppies.
In addition, every four-legged visitor at The Ritz-Carlton, Bachelor Gulch will be welcomed to "Bachelor's Pack" with a swag bag of premium pet supplies for use during their stay and a host of enhanced services and amenities. The resort will donate every $125 per-stay dog fee this June to the American Society for the Prevention of Cruelty to Animals (ASPCA).--Tanya Irwin
