Android Levels Off, iPhone Picks Up

Among U.S. smartphone owners, Android continues to have the biggest share of customers, at 38%. The iPhone has 27%, and BlackBerry, 21%, according to Nielsen's May mobile survey. But the research also shows Android's growth is leveling off this year while the iPhone's is on the rise. Among people that bought smartphones in recent months, Android's share has remained at 27% since February. The iPhone's has gone from 10% to 17% during that time. Windows Phone 7 is stuck at 1%. Overall, 55% of those who bought a new handset in the last three months purchased a smartphone, up from 34% a year ago. Read more here.
