Similar to the Twitter and Facebook sections created for Flipboard, the new LinkedIn Today feature allows the professional networking site's 100 million members to see news and articles based on what their professional peers are sharing and reading. Readers can also find curated content within LinkedIn Today on more than 30 industry categories including real estate, retail, pharmaceuticals, and higher education.
The new content guide in Flipboard 1.5, which slides out after tapping the red ribbon at the top of the screen, promises instant access to favorite sources, a search bar, popular social networks, expanded categories, and curated sections. The one-tap capability is designed to help users dive right into content. So people can tap any source to quickly browse stories or tap the "add" button to add "Favorites" to the content guide. Flipboard says it plans to make money from advertising and subscriptions, but no sign of either yet. Read more here.
